Introduction
Before we tell you about MVEST, we’d like to introduce you to Equity Quotient’s founders…
from Christina:
“Hello and welcome to MVEST, an exciting new insights platform that has been purpose-built to help users understand the current and evolving state of financial health for veterans and their families. I’m Christina Van Houten, the daughter of an Army Veteran born on a base in Germany, a long-time USAA member, and CEO and Co-founder of Equity Quotient, the platform that’s powering the MVEST solution.“
from Perfecto:
“I’m Perfecto Sanchez, Co-founder and Chief Growth Officer of Equity Quotient and also a long-time USAA member, as well as a West Point graduate and Army Veteran. Christina and I are so honored and excited to partner with The USAA Educational Foundation to build a dynamic tool that can help leaders throughout the Veteran community more deeply understand where service members are making progress with their financial health and where opportunities exist to overcome risks that are often faced across employment, housing, transportation, and more.“
Now let us help get you started using MVEST…
Get Started
You can get started by exploring the views profiling Financial Health, both at a summary level and also in greater detail across the three key pillars:
- Financial Stability is focused on understanding how veteran cohorts are faring with respect to meeting their daily obligations.
- Financial Resilience profiles the ability to endure unexpected events, such as health conditions, job loss, or other casualties.
- Financial Security tracks how families are doing from a wealth-building perspective, particularly related to sources such as home equity, savings, and investments.
Understand Your Audience with Segments
As you begin exploring the views, you can select specific population segments from the dropdown menus featured at the top of each screen. You will also be able to add multiple segments, comparing up to 4 cohorts side-by-side to understand how they benchmark to each other for each Financial Health metric. This comparison between Veteran segments and their Civilian counterparts and across Servicemember population segments can provide rich, actionable insights into where opportunities exist to support our Veterans through specific initiatives that can materially improve outcomes.
Use Filtering to Learn Even More
Once you’ve selected from the pre-defined segments. You’ll also be able to filter the population segments further based on location (by State) and demographic attributes, such as gender and race/ethnicity.
What’s Coming Next?
What’s exciting is that this is just the beginning! The MVEST solution will be continually evolving and improving with new content, functionality, and other innovative features. For example, over the coming weeks and months, you’ll gain the ability to create your own customized population segments based on a finer level of geo granularity by community and demographic attributes (age, gender, race/ethnicity, and veteran status). You’ll also be able to name and save these segments within your account to make it easier to go directly to what you care about the most and enhance the value of MVEST’s Benchmarking tool.
You’ll also see exciting new content come online within the platform, including deeper dives into Home, Automotive, and Transition insights. While the Home and Auto views will profile expanded metrics related to veteran housing and car commitments, Transition will provide users with additional context into how cohorts are faring as they evolve through significant milestones after being discharged from the military.
Contact Us. Anytime.
We’re excited to hear from you! Please let us know if you have any questions or suggestions about the MVEST solution. We want to make the experience as valuable and impactful as possible. Again, this is just the start of our journey to improving outcomes for servicemembers. As we continue to innovate to support insights and action, the MVEST and Equity Quotient teams will benefit from your feedback on the tool and new ideas you might have for enhancements.
In closing, we want to express our sincere gratitude for your commitment to advancing Veteran Financial Health across our global community of those who’ve served. We’re excited to be part of a movement to ensure our communities are strong and provided with the resources they need to live lives that recognize and capitalize on the daunting sacrifices they have made and the extraordinary contributions they have provided to our country.
Thank you,
Christina and Perfecto
